I would like to share with you few things I learned while
translating this booklet. It is, I believe, only fair and just
to note here that although there are quite a number of books
about WOMEN in Islam that tackle rights, education,
inheritance and other topics, I strongly feel that this book
has introduced a comprehensive and exhaustive account of all
these topics put together. The booklet gives accurate
historical, social and political accounts of WOMEN from an
Islamic perspective. All these ideas are supported with valid
quotations from various resources.
In a nut
shell, the book is a good start for a person, male and female
alike, who is interested in learning the view point of Islam
on WOMEN and wants to keep this in perspective and comparative
with other religions and societies. This work, I believe, is a
courageous attempt to present the Islamic views about WOMEN in
a simple, yet friendly atmosphere.
